Wrexham First Team defeated Chester by 3½ - 1½ in the last Division 1 match of the 2012/13 season; securing the championship of the Chester & North Wales League for Wrexham.

At start of play all results were possible  and a convincing win by Chester would have allowed them to snatch the title from Wrexham, who had headed Division 1 for most of the second half of the season.

Wrexham’s nerves were settled by an early victory by David Simpson – this win also made David the Division 1 Player of the Year with a personal score of 10½ from 13 games.  Charles Morris also won and draws from Richard Dineley, David James and Ray Holland secured the victory.

Wrexham First Team’s last game of the season will be the League’s Knock Out Cup Final against Rhyl&Prestatyn on 30 April.
