South Wales & South Western Junior Counties Team Championship 2011

January 22nd

South Wales junior players enjoyed a triumphant time in the South Wales and South Western Counties Team Championship, held in Bishop Hedley School, Merthyr Tydfil on 22nd January.

In a thrilling match we won two out of the three competitions and came second in the third. In recent years our team has tied with Berkshire to win the under 14 event. So our success this year was all the more remarkable for the fact that our boards one, two and four were unavailable.

The final scorers were:

U. 14   South Wales 21.5, Berkshire 19.5, Devon 11, Wiltshire 8.

U. 11   South Wales 39.5, Devon 38, Wiltshire 12.5.

U.  9    Wiltshire 31.5, South Wales 21, Devon 19.

The individual scores out of three of our players were:
