Welsh Junior Grand Prix - Qualifier 1

WELSH JUNIOR GRAND PRIX – QUALIFIER 1: NEATH 

 

The first qualifying tournament of this year’s Junior Grand Prix was held at the Old Town Hall Neath. At the start of the day we were joined by James Williams, a reporter for BBC TV Wales Today. James spent over two hours at the venue interviewing and filming Nicholas Evans in his role as our newest (and youngest) national arbiter. Nicholas made the initial announcements at the event and ably controlled the lower sections. The report will be broadcast in the near future on “Wales Today”.

 

Having taken the two allowed byes, Nicholas then joined the play from round 3 onwards.

Players who scored 2½ or more in Sections A and B, and 3 points or more in sections C and D qualify for the final which takes place at St. John’s College, St Mellons, Cardiff at the end of November.
