The British Chess Championships were held at Ponds Forge Sports centre in Sheffield 24th July to 6th August.

An extra congratulations to Megan Owens who has now won every Junior Girls Title in the British. It started in 2003 when she was the Girls U8 Champion in Edinburgh, Girls U9 Scarborough 2004, Girls U10 2005 Isle of Man, Overall U11 title 2005 Isle of Man, Girls U11 & U12 in 2006 in Swansea, Girls U12 & U13 in 2007 Great Yarmouth, Girls U14 in 2009 Torquay, Girls U15 in 2010 Canterbury and now Girls U16 in Sheffield.
