Welsh girls beat the English

Several Welsh junior teams were in action during the week-end 4-5 June, including a girls under 11 team-of-eight that beat their English counterparts 9.5 – 6.5. The other win, also on Sunday, came from the Under 12s, which beat the South West 15.5 – 8.5. The Under 12s almost pulled off a remarkable victory on Saturday. Trailing 4-8 after round 1, they bounced back to win the second round 7.5 – 4.5.

The under 14s struggled, loosing 2.5- 21.5 against the South East, and 7-17 to the South West. Finding the going even tougher was the under 10 boys’ team, facing a very strong team from England. Congratulations to Elison Smith for securing a draw in round 2 that prevented a whitewash.
